Is it okay to take Excedrin one week before surgery to approach?
my surgery is next Thursday and my grandmother always tells me I can not take any form of ibuprofen, because it will clarify my blood during surgery. but I had a horrible headache since 8 o'clock this morning and I'm not a fan of suffering
Ibuprofen is * not * considered an anti-platelet or anticoagulant. Excedrin contains aspirin, acetaminophen and caffeine, and works very well for migraine, especially when taken in early onset headache. Aspirin, other hand, acts as a blood thinner, so that you do not take aspirin or Excedrin less 48 hours before surgery. Ask your doctor to be sure, but a week away from surgery is absolutely beautiful. Aspirin has a short half-life, it does not work for long and must be taken daily to maintain the blood thinning effects.
