Color Trends 2009
The designers we tend to use the Benjamin Moore paint when we are specifying paint colors. Their paint has more depth of color than other brands and covers very well.
Doty Horn, director of color and design at Benjamin Moore, traverses the earth looking for trends. It works on color trends full two years in advance. Doty PowerPoint presentation of happenings in vogue gathered from around the world, everything from chairs that look like nests with furniture made from PVC pipes melted. Doty distills all the eye open out there in the movement patterns of colors usable for real life. Horn of analysis identifies the colors that are popular in everything from cars to appliances accessories for home and interior design.
Well,
Here are the stories:
Under Color Pulse by Benjamin Moore in 2009, he are four main color trends that will be dominating our environment next year and beyond.
Raw: Horn says this palette is derived thrust toward minimalism, pairing life reduced to its most authentic. Horn said this palette is derived from unfinished wood, cinder blocks and other "make-do" materials and includes shades of white sand and gray.
Benjamin Moore "Raw" colors: Chantilly Lace OC-65, Mascarpone AF-20, Collector's Item AF-45 Fossil AF-65 Frappe AF-85 AF-95 Hush, Jute AF-80, Tucson Winds 1024, Sterling 1591, Storm AF-700, wool Steel 2121-20, 2121-10 Gray
Urban Silence Horn said this group of colors reflects the changing boundary between the life in the city and life outside the city. "Here the trees become houses and houses become trees," she said.
As more urban buildings incorporate rooftop gardens and shipping containers are converted into living spaces, the city becomes softer, more livable place. Horn said this palette reflects these changes by mixing the gray tones of urban life with vibrant, organic colors like rust, green and terracotta.
Benjamin Moore "Urban Silence" colors: Shadow Gray 2125-40, Lapland AF-410, Yellow Tone 370, Wasabi AF-430, Winding Vines 532, Old Gold 167, Glen Ridge Gold 301, AF-375 Rattan, Rustic Taupe 999, Abbey Brown 1225 Bronze Metallic Bronze-30 (Studio Finish color), copper wire copper-40 (color Studio Finish)
Simplexity: To understand the color palette, think of the pixels that make up a computer screen: thousands of tiny dots in various shades that come together for a while. These are colors that have more to them than meets the eye.
"The colors here are very complex, they have much depth to them, but they are easy to use, so that some of the simplicity of it, "says Horn. For example, she said, thinking of a color that feeling blue, but it is really purple. "It is almost black, but he has a background of blue and red running underneath it and has a rich texture and a rich landscape and the way the light hits it, you begin to see the nuances of how those colors flip underneath. "
Benajamin Moore "Simplexity" colors: Thunder AF-685 Meditation AF-395, Amsterdam AF-550 Carob AF-160, Caponata AF-650, 2006-10 Merlot Red, Arroyo Red 2085-10, 2158-10 dry mustard, Majestic Purple 2068-10, Hidden Falls 714, butter Yam AF-230, 1546 Gargoyle
Private Identity: With the "Private Identity" palette, Horn said she and trends in colors other experts were reflection on how we express our individuality in such an overwhelming, world population. Here, the colors are bright, bold and unexpected.
"You are your own person so that you will put together a color personal statement," Horn said. "You could do a bright red mixed with a powder blue and put a gold medal in bold against it. So you have this contrast of very bold color and then a very light color, which gives an unexpected turn. "
Benjamin Moore "Private Identity" Colors include: Desert Rose 2094-50, Mango Punch 154 Vivace 405, Pacific Palisades 762, Tricycle Red 2000-20, Blushing Red 2079-20, Thunderbird 675, Lucerne AF-530, Fire and Ice 1329, Satin Black (High Gloss) 2131-10, Silver Metallic Silver-20 (Studio Finish color) Gold Metallic Gold-10 (Studio Finish color)
(The symbols after the colors listed above show their collection, so those with a goal AF mean they are part of Affinity colors mean OC Off-White Colors and those bearing the numbers are in their regular group of colors classic).
Do not know where to start? What story colors to use?
I think you can use colors that are in harmony with the geography in which you live, the architecture of your home and most of all personal choices. If you live on the 28th floor of a condo overlooking a major mountain and you look on a river … its all about the view. So keep your colors to a dull roar. The color palette of RAW may be a good choice for you. If you live in a gray climate and you want color, rich tones of the palette SIMPLEXITY may be the right choice for you.
I think the real trend is personalization. People are tired of telling others what is good for their homes. When choosing colors reflect what color suits you well. What would you like to wear? What do you want to feel when you walk in the door? Color evokes a sense of challenge.
You may want to purchase a sample of the color you want and use the paint on "powerful onboard. It's a fine, fluted plastic sheet 2×2 materials that will not warp when painted. You can get in most stores Benjamin Moore paint. See what the color is like night and during the day before painting the entire room.
More importantly, be bold – it's only paint. You can easily To resume a few dollars.
Happy painting!
